Karuval is an idol belonging to Kuttichatan's brotherhood. Mahadeva and Parvati disguise themselves as Valluva and park in the mountain, one of the unnis born. Karuval was living on the mountain as a forest goddess when Kuttichathan was given to the bulls. Legend has it that in later times he traveled like the Gandharvadhis and entertained many people and stayed in some important kavas and temples carrying flowers, kuruti, thira and kolam. Karuwal Bhagwati is also tied in the ministerial act called Malayankett.
